Le vie est belle!

August 10, 2008

Star World is showing Friends reruns.
Hallmark’s playing Christmas movies in August.
I’ve finally had time to plough through a great bit of my reading backlog.
The Opening Ceremony was brilliant (despite the very painful 9-11pm wait).
I’ve discovered John Vanderslice and Neutral Milk Hotel
I’m getting reacquainted with Joni Mitchell and Sandi Thorn.
Pink I/C.
Days Starting at 12pm and lunches at 3pm.
Go-karting and Power boating.
I’m repainting my room before I move out of it.
Seasons Four of Boston Legal and House have been recently acquired (from nothing but very legitimate sources, of course)

And, I’ve managed to catch up with almost all the people who really matter in the past few weeks. =)

(Barring the small, insignificant fact that in about 8 hours, it’ll be taking a 20-year hiatus,)
Life is Good.

The Land of the Free

March 2, 2008

Yesterday was one of the best days I’ve had in a long time. Seeing everyone again in school and at the dinner, singing the hymns by heart, listening to everyone bitch about IB, (even buying my 2 Teh Bings)… There was an overwhelming, and very much comforting, familiarity to it all - for a brief moment I felt as if I were one of them again.

Alas, in 12 minutes time, I shall leave the house once more to return to the sweet Asphodel fields in a land far, far away. TBIYTB.

I hate writing these rushed, unconstructed snippets. One day, I promise myself I shall compose a proper post, and perhaps even reply to the comments I’ve receieved.

The Last Excuse

March 1, 2008

Some of us were talking on the ferry back from Tekong, and it kind of hit us -

In a while, the First, or at least most of us, will meet in school officially for the very Last time. Our last excuse to come back on the pretense of doing something important, when really, what we’re acually looking forward to is hunting down everyone who ever mattered, walking down the corridors and rehashing and reveling in the memories, maybe buying a Teh Bing or two from aunty Ming Keow.

After this, we’ll be relegated to the leagues of the them again!s and the those extras with no lives when we come back, the seniors we used to laugh at all the time for returning at any spare moment they had.

Ah well. Have been looking forward to this for a while, should be quite a day. =)

I’m losing it

February 17, 2008

Went back to ACS to catch up with some of the guys today. To my horror, I actually had to stand there for a moment trying to recall how to get to the UYO cabins from the other side of the school.

Public Service Announcement

January 10, 2008

I’ve got very many things to say about how the results thing on Monday was run. For now, I guess

—–

I leave the house in 5 mins, uncertain if I’ve packed enough, run enough, prayed enough, or brought enough to keep my brain from turning into pulp and mush.

—–

Even though I doubt absolutely anyone comes by here, please SMS me about ANYTHING if you ever have the time. I’ve changed my phone (number remains the same), and have lost most of my numbers, so YOU have to SMS me!! As in you Have To!!! I will survive solely on your smses and prayers.

Till the 27th if I emerge alive and sane,

Godspeed to all going in as well

How the Omer Counts the path to the Festival of First fruits (Num 28:26):

7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7 (a spare for posterity)

—–

Anyhoo, with the advent of The certificate of signing out, a letter of signing up, and an oath of signing in, this promises to be be quite a week, no matter how things turn out.
